All over the United States on Friday, September 9th students sang the National Anthem at different local times simultaneously synchronizing with 1:00 p.m. EST. During the week leading up to September 9th Bonny View teachers practiced singing the National Anthem and went over the meaning of the anthem with their students.

Initially the National Anthem Sing-A-Long Movement began three years ago in honor of the events of 9/11 asking students to unite and sing together all around our nation at one common time. “Getting students involved in learning the words and meaning of our nation’s anthem, as well as uniting as a country to sing is powerful,” says Mia Toschi, Founder of the National Anthem Sing-A-Long Movement. “When students come together to celebrate citizenship, everyone wins.”

Superintendent Rick Fauss along with a parent volunteer lead the students, staff and visiting parents singing the National Anthem. A group of students stood in the center of the circle of singing students holding United States Flags!

Well done Bonny View School
